Product Review + GIVEAWAY: Hilary’s Eat Well Black Rice Burger

BlackRice-Burger-bun

I’ve been eating meat free most of my life, so it’s no wonder that veggie burgers have been a staple in my food repertoire. I have a few favorites in the veggie patty category, but none of them compare to my new found love with Hilary’s Eat Well burgers. Have you tried them?

These frozen vegan veggie patties are in a class all to their own. I mean, who can beat a variety of five flavors to choose from all of which are always gluten-free, dairy-free, corn-free, egg-free, soy-free, yeast-free, nut-free and non-GMO! Who does that!?! Hilary’s Eat Well of course. And, to top it all off, this month Hilary’s is debuting a brand new product, the Black Rice Burger. Hold on tight to your cowboy hats because this burger is about to blow you away!

The Black Rice Burger is pretty darn close to perfection if you ask me. It’s made from complete whole foods including Lotus Foods Organic brown Jasmine rice, water, adzuki bean, millet, leafy greens, sweet potato, expeller-pressed coconut oil, salt, garlic, apple cider vinegar, psyllium husk powder, arrowroot, cumin and lime juice. What a combo! And, unlike so many veggie burgers on the market, Hilary’s burgers are packed with nutrient-dense, whole food, tasty goodness and all from plant sources of course!

I tried these Black Rice Burgers, along with all of the other Hilary’s yummy creations (did you know they also make a Hemp and Greens Burger, Adzuki Bean Burger, Root Veggie Burger, The World’s Best Veggie Burger, and Original Veggie Bites? It’s true. I’m not lying) and I fell instantly in love. I heated my Black Rice Burger up in a pan with a little coconut oil. The burger turned out perfectly crispy and this is how I’d recommend you try it too, unless of course you are firing up the BBQ. No matter how you cook it, I think you’ll agree that these healthy burgers are tasty too!

Want to hear something really exciting? The amazing folks over at Hilary’s are giving away a coupon for a FREE package of Black Rice Burgers to THREE of my cowgirl or cowboy friends (this means YOU!). This quite possibly means that you too can enjoy a Black Rice Burger just like me! Yeeeehhhhaaawwww!

  1. I would love to try these. I’m trying to eat more plant based protein and I love that these are non Gmo and soy free!!

  2. I’m always looking for the next best veggie burger! I love to have them crumbled over a salad but it’s been awhile since I’ve had one that blew my socks off! Perhaps Hilary’s are the ones?

    1. I think so Marisa! They are super yummy and don’t taste like any other veggie burger I have ever tried before. Thanks for entering and Good luck!

  3. Already a fan of your blog. Want to win & try these burgers. So many more good vegan options being available makes plant based eating more convenient for long time vegans and veg-curious. The more meat-free options, the more people will chose meat-free options, better for animals, the planet and our health.

  4. These veggie burgers are my absolute favorite, I love that they are gluten, soy and nut free. I actually brought one to work today and my meat-eating co-worker commented on how good it looked 🙂 I can’t wait to try this new flavor!

    1. You’re going to LOVE this flavor Anna! It’s the best; it doesn’t taste like any other veggie patty I have ever had before. Thanks for entering and good luck. Yeehaw!

  5. .. had one at a friends place in Sausalito .. love! Have not been able to find them here in Seattle tho ;-(

    Namaste,
    Anthony

    1. Aren’t they amazingly delicious Anthony? I have been able to get them at my closest Whole Foods Market. Surely there’s one not too far from you in Sausalito. Thanks for entering and good luck. Yeehaw!

  6. Haven’t had this yet. I get sick from quinoa, and so many veggie burgers use it. Looking forward to being able to eat this one! I like to keep easy dinners in the freezers for days I don’t feel like cooking.

  7. On Memorial Day, I prepared myself by grabbing a Hilary’s Eat Well Original Patty and a vegan dessert for a BBQ I was heading too. I chose HIlary’s out of the other options (and yes there were many) because I’ve heard through other bloggers (nudge, nudge) that this was hands down one of the best frozen veggie patties out there. I felt I needed to join the party.
When I look for products I always look for simple ingredients, all those wonderful check marks, a small business with heart/passion and blogger approved. The patty was really good! It was different then others I’ve tried. It had a buttery flavor with a crunchy coating. It was a pleasant surprise.
I want to try the all the other flavors and compare. I also want to play around with different topping options. The Black Rice Patty sounds like a nice place to start since I already cooked my original veggie patty without pictures haha.
    Thanks!

    1. I think you’ll want to add this burger to your repertoire of vegan friendly foods Elana! I’m certain you won’t be disappointed. Thanks for entering and yeehaw lady!

  9. Oh my, I’m suddenly very aware that it’s lunch time, those look so good. 🙂
